Sustainable Craft from Rescued Trees
Our team at El Séptimo is dedicated to rescuing and recycling trees that have fallen naturally or were damaged by storms. We reclaim this wood and craft it into unique, handcrafted products — including cutting boards, coasters, and napkin rings. This sustainable practice conserves our forests and gives new life to discarded trees. By avoiding new timber, we reduce waste, lower energy costs, and help fight climate change by storing carbon and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Our products will be available starting December 10. Join us in making sustainability beautiful.

The Benefits of Our Process
Reclaiming and recycling wood is a sustainable practice with significant environmental and economic advantages.
Environmental Protection
By reclaiming and recycling fallen trees, we reduce the need to harvest new timber. This practice helps conserve vital forests, which are essential for absorbing carbon dioxide and producing oxygen.
Waste Reduction
Our process diverts wood from landfills, thereby reducing waste and the high costs associated with disposal.
Resource & Energy Conservation
Using recycled wood is more energy-efficient and cost-effective than harvesting and processing new timber. This saves valuable resources.
Ecosystem Health & Carbon Sequestration
Less pressure on forests from logging helps maintain healthy ecosystems. This also enhances the forests' ability to sequester carbon, which is crucial in the global fight against climate change.
The Art of Renewal
Here's how we transform reclaimed wood into beautiful, useful products:
1. Collection & Salvage
We collect and salvage wood from our reserve that would otherwise go to waste. This includes trees that pose a safety hazard to our lodge or trails, those that have fallen naturally, and others with a significant incline of 35° or more.
2. Processing & Sorting
The salvaged wood is carefully sorted, air-dried, and cleaned. It's then processed into smaller pieces, scraps, and sawdust, preparing it for its next use.
3. Manufacturing
During this stage, we turn the processed wood into new products. We pack small wood scraps, fibers, and sawdust to create fire starters. Larger pieces are categorized by size to be crafted into various articles, such as cutting boards, while unique, well-shaped pieces are set aside for art pieces and frames.
