The Museo de la Cultura Ecuatoriana on Calle Sucre has collections of local art. The Museo y Monasterio de la Concepcion close by at Calle Hermano Miguel has a silver nativity scene and various religious arts. Also on Calle Sucre you will find the Museo de Arte Moderno that has on display contemporary art exhibitions. The Museo Municipal Remigio Crespo Toral on Calle Larga y Borrero contains pre-Hispanic ceramics, gold pieces, and colonial religious sculptures, paintings, and furniture.

If you are looking for a collection of pre-Colombian archaeological artifacts you should visit the Museo de las Culturas Aborigenes on Avenida 10 de Agosto. For republican and colonial art as well as more archaeological objects the Museo del Banco Central, on the Avenida Huayna-Capac, will meet your requirements.

In Riobamba , on Calle Orozco, the Convento de la Concepcion houses the Museo de Arte Religioso with religious art, statues and religious robes. Also in Riobamba, the Museo de la Escuela Politecnica Superior de Chimborazo displays archaeological artifacts. The Museo del Banco Central has ethnographic and modern exhibitions.

In Latacunga, in the Molinos de Montserrat, you will find a small Ethnographic Museum run by the Casa de la Cultura.

In Ambat , at the Parque Cevallos, the Museo de Ciencias Naturales displays stuffed birds and animals found on the region.

Museums of the Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana are also found in Esmeraldas and Portoviejo . Loja has another Museo del Banco Central and a Museo Municipal is also found in Manta and Zaruma.
